MACS® ART Annexin V System “Select the Highest-Quality Sperm”

Select Better Sperm and Improve Sperm Quality
During assisted reproductive treatment, apoptotic sperm cells significantly affect semen sample quality and may reduce the success rate of fertility treatments. Traditional sperm preparation methods cannot specifically eliminate apoptotic sperm cells from semen samples.
What is MACS® ART Annexin V System?
MACS (Magnetic Activated Cell Sorting) is a technique used in fertility treatments to select healthy sperm from those that are undergoing apoptosis. This process involves the use of Annexin V, a protein that binds to phosphatidylserine, a marker found on the membranes of apoptotic sperm. The sperm sample is incubated with Annexin V-coated magnetic beads, and then passed through a column under a magnetic field. The apoptotic sperm bind to the magnetic beads and are retained, while the healthy, motile sperm pass through and are collected for use in assisted reproduction treatments. This technique is particularly beneficial for couples where the male partner has high sperm DNA fragmentation, as it helps to improve the chances of successful fertilization and pregnancy.
Innovative and proven: Apoptotic sperm cell removal with MACS ART Annexin V
The MACS ART Annexin V System consists of CE-marked components and is currently the only technique that specifically selects and effectively removes apoptotic spermatozoa from semen preparations. The procedure improves the quality of semen preparations and increases the chance of fertilization and pregnancy after in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Many Studies Have Demonstrated That Purified Sperm Have Better Overall Quality, Including:
- Reduced apoptosis rate
- Improved sperm morphology
- Enhanced sperm motility
- Reduced DNA fragmentation
- Lower chromosomal abnormalities
- Reduced necrosis rate
