Uneven breasts, what to do?

What causes uneven breasts

- Physical condition

Every individual is different, and our physical conditions are not the same. This includes hormones, where some people develop faster or slower than others, causing the body to be uneven.

- Postpartum mothers

For mothers after childbirth, this is another factor that can cause uneven breast sizes. Hormones can cause the breasts to have different sizes, and even during breastfeeding, the upper breast fullness may disappear. Additionally, breastfeeding from only one side can also result in uneven breasts.

- Behavior

Individual lifestyle behaviors are different, affecting the body's physical structure. For example, weight loss or wearing an unsuitable bra can also result in uneven breast sizes.

- Correcting uneven breasts

To correct the problem of uneven breasts, it is mostly recommended that patients consult only with experienced doctors to consider the appropriate treatment for each individual. Cosmetic surgery or breast surgery can fix the problem and return the breasts to an equal size. Doctors will recommend treatment guidelines as follows:

- Breast lifting surgery

Breast lifting (Breast Lifting) is suitable for patients with uneven breast problems caused by sagging, such as postpartum mothers. The doctor will plan and evaluate in detail to perform surgery to remove excess skin and lift the breasts so that both sides are balanced or equal in size.

- Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation (Breast augmentation) is another widely popular technique for patients with uneven breast problems. Since breast augmentation with silicone can determine the size of the breasts, besides providing a beautiful and prominent shape, it also helps the breasts achieve an equal size.

Preparation before surgery to correct uneven breasts

Preparation before undergoing surgery to fix uneven breasts involves the doctor clearly explaining the details and instructions for the patient to follow strictly to reduce impacts during surgery, with the following practices:

- Should inform about drug allergy history, underlying diseases, and current medications.

- Refrain from smoking or drining all types of alcohol for at least 2 weeks before surgery.

- Refrain from taking supplements, herbs, blood thinners, and anti-inflammatory drugs for at least 2 weeks.

- Should take a shower and wash your hair to clean the body thoroughly before surgery.

- Should wear loose, comfortable clothing to reduce the chance of friction with the surgical wound.

- Refrain from water and food for at least 6 – 8 hours before surgery to prevent aspiration during the procedure.

After surgery to correct uneven breasts

- Avoid bathing in the initial period, it is recommended to use a sponge bath instead.

- Avoid moving the body frequently or making sudden movements.

- Avoid exercising, lifting heavy objects, or doing activities that affect the surgical wound.

- It is recommended to wear a support bra consistently to keep the breasts in shape.

- It is recommended to follow up with doctor appointments continuously until the wound is completely healed to monitor various risks.

- Refrain from eating seafood, pickled foods, processed foods, or semi-raw foods for at least 1 - 2 months.

- Refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol for at least 1 month or until the wound heals normally.
