On June 25, 2025, Bangkok continued its mission to enhance public health by integrating advanced technology into the healthcare system. Taksin Hospital, under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), hosted its 21st Annual Academic Conference, where innovations in healthcare and patient services were the main focus. The event was presided over by the Deputy Governor of Bangkok and featured a special discussion on the theme “Innovative Integration of Technology and Patient Care,” joined by prominent public figures and experts in health technology.

The Deputy Governor stated that modern technology is rapidly transforming healthcare delivery. It enables doctors, nurses, and health professionals to perform their duties with greater speed, precision, and efficiency. As medical innovation continues to advance, both healthcare providers and patients stand to benefit significantly. She emphasized that innovation is a key component of the BMA’s strategic health goals, but must be implemented in a way that aligns with human-centered, sustainable development. Smart cities, she noted, should remain livable—balanced between technology and quality of life.

Taksin Hospital is a high-level tertiary care institution under the Medical Services Department of the BMA. It has made consistent strides in implementing standardized, safe, and effective care for patients. With a strong emphasis on professional development, the hospital ensures its medical staff keep pace with technological advancements. The integration of artificial intelligence for diagnostics, precision medicine for treatment, wearable health monitoring devices, and telemedicine for remote care are helping to make healthcare more accessible, safe, and sustainable for Bangkok residents.

The 2025 academic conference was held from June 25 to 26 at True Icon Hall, ICONSIAM. The event gathered around 250 participants from various health-related professions including BMA officers, public health departments, government agencies, private sector networks, and partner organizations. Fourth- to sixth-year medical students from various universities were also invited to participate in expert-led learning sessions and compete in the “White Coat Warriors” medical knowledge contest.

In addition to sharing knowledge and best practices, the conference emphasized the importance of continued professional development in the health sector. Taksin Hospital reaffirmed its commitment to equipping Thai healthcare workers with up-to-date knowledge and skills, calling on public support to contribute to the Taksin Hospital Foundation. Funds raised will go toward the purchase of advanced medical equipment for the new 23-storey Borworwetcharat Building (600 beds), enhancing the hospital’s ability to deliver holistic care—both physically and mentally—to all patients.

This initiative highlights Bangkok's determination to become a city of health innovation, where smart technologies are thoughtfully applied to improve public well-being and ensure no one is left behind in the pursuit of better healthcare.
