According to the report, the third batch of the Chinese medical team has treated over 1,800 patients since their deployment in September 2024. Additionally, the team has been involved in more than 300 surgeries and conducted around 30 training sessions.
Port Vila experienced a 7.3-magnitude earthquake on Dec. 17, 2024, which caused extensive infrastructure damage and resulted in at least 14 casualties.
The Chinese medical team was among the first non-local responders to offer emergency medical aid, despite sustaining injuries themselves during the earthquake.
