Bangkok, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is accelerating its strategy to position Thailand as a global Health & Wellness destination with the successful hosting of the Amazing Thailand Health & Wellness Trade Meet 2026, a major international business platform connecting global buyers with Thailand’s leading wellness providers.

Held under the theme “Healing is the New Luxury,” the event brought together 69 Thai wellness operators and 74 international buyers from across the world, alongside global media and influencers, to engage in high-level business matching and partnership development. The event is expected to generate more than 1,632 business appointments and create an estimated economic circulation of over THB 929.62 million, reflecting strong global demand for high-value health and wellness tourism.

TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool highlighted that health and wellness have become key drivers of modern lifestyles, travel, and investment. According to the Global Wellness Institute, the global wellness economy was valued at approximately USD 6.8 trillion in 2024 and is projected to reach nearly USD 7.9 trillion by 2026. Thailand continues to emerge as one of the fastest-growing markets in this sector, with a wellness economy valued at over USD 42.7 billion, growing more than 10% year-on-year. Notably, Thailand’s wellness tourism sector has recorded a remarkable 36.4% growth within a single year, nearly three times the global average, reaching a market value of approximately USD 14 billion.

This strong growth is supported by Thailand’s unique combination of traditional healing wisdom, natural resources, modern medical expertise, and world-class hospitality, reinforcing its competitiveness as a global hub for wellness and recovery.
The event also featured a high-level forum titled “Thailand and the Future of Longevity-Driven Tourism & Living,” where industry leaders shared insights on the convergence of wellness, lifestyle, and technology. This was followed by business matching sessions and a showcase of innovative Thai health technologies and services, including advanced diagnostics, personalized wellness solutions, and integrative health approaches.

To further strengthen market confidence, TAT organized exclusive site visits for international buyers to leading wellness and medical facilities in Bangkok, including BDMS Wellness Clinic and Samitivej Hospital, among others. In addition, the Amazing Thailand Health & Wellness Fam Trip 2026 will introduce participants to key wellness destinations across Thailand, including Krabi, Hua Hin, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and Nakhon Pathom, offering firsthand experience of the country’s diverse health tourism offerings.
TAT emphasized that the event represents a significant step in advancing Thailand’s transition toward high-value and sustainable tourism, aligned with the broader “Life Economy” concept, which focuses on enhancing well-being, happiness, and balance for both travelers and local communities.
The Amazing Thailand Health & Wellness Trade Meet 2026 not only reinforces Thailand’s global positioning under the campaign “Amazing Thailand: Healing is the New Luxury,” but also demonstrates the country’s capability to integrate innovation, wellness, and tourism into a powerful economic driver, further strengthening its status as a leading global hub for medical and wellness tourism.
