The government invites Thai women aged 11-20 to receive a free cervical cancer (HPV) vaccine to reduce mortality rates, with services available nationwide until April 2025.
Today (March 16, 2025), Ms. Sasikarn Watthanachan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, announced that the government prioritizes cervical cancer prevention, a silent threat that claims the lives of many Thai women each year. In collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and the Department of Medical Services, the government has launched a free HPV vaccination program for Thai women aged 11-20. The initiative aims to build immunity, lower disease risks, and improve public health sustainably.
The service is available to Thai women who have never received the cervical cancer vaccine before and those who received the first dose but exceeded the six-month gap for the second dose. Vaccinations are available free of charge through a walk-in system every Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, until April 30, 2025 (excluding public holidays) at 69 public health service centers nationwide.
Recipients must bring their national ID cards for registration. Additionally, 5th-grade students in Bangkok schools will receive the vaccine at their schools, administered by the Public Health Service Centers under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, ensuring complete vaccination coverage according to the government’s health plan.
