• Lung Cancer: Heavy smokers with a history of at least 30 pack-years and who are either still smoking or have quit within the past 15 years should undergo annual low-dose CT scans of the chest for early detection of lung cancer. 

• Prostate Cancer: Men starting at age 45 years with a family history of prostate cancer before age 65 should consult with a physician to get a PSA blood test. 

• Liver Cancer: Screening for liver cancer involves testing for hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections. 

• Colon and Rectal Cancer: Starting at age 50, both men and women should undergo colon and rectal cancer screenings, such as sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy, every 5-10 years. 

• Ovarian Cancer: Tumor markers such as CA 12-5 and HE4 are used for early diagnosis of ovarian cancer, as they are elevated in women with the disease.
