Pre-flight Medical Assessment

Pre-flight Medical Assessment is an important part of Medical Wings’ patient transport process. Before each transfer, the medical team reviews and evaluates the patient’s condition to determine whether the patient is fit to fly and what level of care is required during the journey.

The assessment may consider the patient’s diagnosis, current medical condition, stability, mobility, oxygen needs, medication requirements, recent procedures, risks during flight, and the most appropriate mode of transport. This helps the team decide whether the patient should travel by air ambulance, commercial airline with medical escort, or another suitable arrangement.

The objective of the pre-flight assessment is to reduce risk, prepare the right medical support, select the most appropriate transport plan, and ensure that the patient can be transferred safely to the intended destination.
