FAT GRAFTING

Facial fat grafting, also referred to as fat transfer or fat injection, is a cosmetic procedure involving the transfer of a patient's own body fat from one area of the body, such as the abdomen or thighs, to the face in order to add volume and enhance the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other facial flaws.  

The surgeon will harvest fat from the donor site using liposuction. This fat is typically extracted from areas with excess fat, such as the abdomen, hips, and thighs. The harvested fat is then purified to remove contaminants and damaged fat cells. The purified fat is injected using a small catheter or cannula into the face's desired areas. The surgeon will position the fat cells with precision to attain a natural appearance.  

Fat transfer to the face can be used to treat a variety of cosmetic issues, including:  

• The use of lipofilling to augment the cheekbones or temples.  

• Filling in facial hollows or depressions.  

• Improving the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines  

Compared to other injectable treatments, such as dermal fillers, facial fat transplantation results in a more natural and durable appearance. Due to the fact that the patient's own fat cells are extracted, there is a low risk of allergic reactions or rejection.
