What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted high-frequency ultrasound energy, known as Micro-Focused Ultrasound with Visualization (MFU-V), to penetrate deep into the skin layers.

During the procedure, the physician can see real-time images of the skin layers on a screen (See–Plan–Treat), allowing precise delivery of ultrasound energy while adjusting the settings to suit each individual’s skin condition. This ensures high accuracy throughout the treatment.

Ultherapy delivers results that other technologies cannot achieve by causing controlled tissue contraction in the SMAS layer, the same deep layer targeted in surgical facelifts.

During the treatment

Ultrasound energy is delivered into the deeper layers of the skin. Patients may feel a warm sensation beneath the skin, which can vary from person to person.
Topical anesthetic cream can help reduce discomfort, although some patients may undergo the treatment without anesthesia.

After the treatment

1. 1. The skin may feel drier initially, partly due to the topical anesthetic, which can increase skin dryness. Some patients may experience redness.
   (Applying a rich moisturizer frequently can help reduce skin irritation.)

2. 2. Mild pain, tenderness, tightness, or slight swelling may occur in the treated areas during the first 1–2 weeks.
   (Cold compresses can help relieve pain or swelling.)

3. 3. Tenderness under the skin when touched is common after Ulthera treatment. If discomfort is significant, pain relievers such as paracetamol may be taken.
   Generally, this tenderness resolves within 1–2 weeks.

How many Ulthera treatments are needed?

Only one treatment session is required. Initial results can be seen within 1 month as new collagen is stimulated, with more visible results appearing at around 3 months.

Results

Results typically last for 1–2 years. Patients may notice lifted eyebrows, brighter and more open-looking eyes, firmer skin, smaller pores, and smoother, more lifted skin on both the face and neck—all achieved without surgery.
