The Pediatric Eye Department at Surat Eye Hospital is dedicated to the care and treatment of eye diseases in children. We understand that children's eye health is crucial for their overall development, and we're committed to providing the best care possible.

Our pediatric ophthalmologists are specially trained to diagnose and manage a wide range of children's eye issues, from common to complex conditions. We provide a child-friendly environment that is designed to make our young patients feel comfortable and safe.

We cater to a wide age range of patients, each with specific common eye issues related to their age group:

Premature Babies: Our team provides special care for premature babies, who are at risk for specific eye problems such as retinopathy of prematurity, a condition that can lead to vision problems or blindness if not properly managed.
Babies: In infants, we manage conditions such as congenital cataracts, glaucoma, and abnormalities in the anterior (front) part of the eye.

Preschoolers: For children in this age group, we often see conditions like amblyopia (also known as lazy eye), strabismus (crossed or misaligned eyes), and anisometropia (a significant difference in the refractive power of the eyes), all of which can affect visual development if not treated promptly.
School-Age Children (over 6 years old): As children enter school, it becomes crucial to ensure their visual acuity is at its best to support their learning. We provide regular vision screenings and treat conditions like myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism.

In all cases, early detection and intervention are key. At Surat Eye Hospital, we emphasize preventative care and education to help parents understand the importance of regular eye examinations for their children. We're ready to provide advice, diagnose, and maintain your child's eye health, ensuring they have the best chance at excellent vision and eye health throughout their life.
