Cold weather may feel pleasant for many, but it can pose serious health risks &mdash; particularly for those with heart conditions, high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol. Low temperatures cause blood vessels to constrict, leading to increased blood pressure, while blood viscosity also rises due to lower fluid intake. These changes heighten the risk of blood clots or ruptured vessels in the brain, which can result in stroke.

Experts explain that several physiological and behavioral factors contribute to this increased risk, including:

TAT has carefully reviewed all planned tourism activities during this period and adopted three key measures: postponement of certain events, modification of event formats, and cancellation or replacement of some activities with religious and cultural observances to honor Her Majesty&rsquo;s legacy with utmost respect.

<h3>Revised Event Schedule and Format</h3>

<h4>Vijit Chao Phraya Thailand 2025</h4>

Originally scheduled from 1 November &ndash; 15 December 2025, the event will now be held from 9 November &ndash; 23 December 2025 along both sides of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. 
The event concept has been revised under the theme &ldquo;The Light of Siam: Mother of the Land&rdquo; to commemorate Her Majesty&rsquo;s boundless royal grace. Fireworks displays will be replaced by a drone light show, symbolizing national mourning and reverence. The lighting tone and color scheme will also be adjusted to reflect solemnity and respect. 
On New Year&rsquo;s Eve, TAT invites the public to join a commemorative activity titled &ldquo;Candlelight of the Land&rdquo;, where candles will be lit nationwide as a tribute to Her Majesty.

<h4>Maha Loy Krathong @ Ayutthaya</h4>

Scheduled for 2&ndash;6 November 2025 at Wat Phra Ram, within the Ayutthaya Historical Park, this event will proceed as planned but with modifications in tone and presentation to reflect the national mourning period. 
Fireworks and pyrotechnic displays will be omitted. Instead, the program will feature cultural performances honoring Her Majesty, musical tributes featuring royal compositions of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, highlighting their extraordinary musical artistry and cultural legacy. 
Other activities include traditional craft and culinary demonstrations, Thai folk art workshops, and a nostalgic market featuring local products and cuisine in a warm, respectful atmosphere.

<h4>Maha Loy Krathong @ Sukhothai</h4>

The Maha Loy Krathong Festival @ Sukhothai will take place as originally scheduled from 27 October &ndash; 5 November 2025 at Wat Chana Songkhram, within the Sukhothai Historical Park. 
The event will feature traditional handicraft demonstrations, local art and cultural activities, and Thai classical music performances inspired by royal compositions. The venue&rsquo;s lighting and decorations will be adjusted to maintain an atmosphere of dignity and remembrance. 
Each evening at 21:21 hrs, a candle-lighting ceremony will be held to collectively express condolences and appreciation for Her Majesty&rsquo;s lifelong dedication to the Thai people.

<h4>Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2025</h4>

The Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2025 will take place as scheduled on 30 November 2025, starting at MBK Center and finishing at Sanam Luang. 
However, the event&rsquo;s overall presentation will be adjusted to suit the national mood of mourning while maintaining the spirit of unity, health, and perseverance that the marathon represents.
