Thailand has reaffirmed its commitment to international cooperation in healthcare, wellness and longevity, offering to become a trusted partner in Dubai’s ambition to establish itself as a global longevity hub.
The Royal Thai Consulate General in Dubai hosted a high level gathering featuring presentations and a fireside chat with a visiting Thai delegation. The event highlighted Thailand’s healthcare capabilities, wellness tourism potential, investment opportunities and growing interest in international longevity partnerships.
The initiative followed the establishment of the Dubai Longevity Authority (DLA) in June 2026. After an online meeting with the DLA on 23 July 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate General coordinated a visit by representatives from Thailand’s public and private sectors.
According to Consul General Charkrienorrathip Sevikul, Thailand became the first foreign government to meet with the DLA, marking a significant step towards closer cooperation in the emerging longevity sector.
Discussions focused on regulatory frameworks, advanced therapy medicinal products, health tourism and opportunities for public-private partnerships.
The engagement reflects growing international interest in healthcare models that extend beyond disease treatment towards preventive medicine, healthy ageing and long-term wellbeing.
The Thai delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Public Health, the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO), the Thai Medical and Wellness Tourism Association (TMWTA), and tourism organisations from Nakhon Ratchasima.
Their presentations outlined Thailand’s ambition to strengthen its position as an international destination for medical services, wellness experiences, academic collaboration and health related products.
The delegation also introduced investment incentives and major development projects intended to support the country's expanding health and wellness ecosystem.
The event brought together international business leaders, including H.E. Dr Mohammed Al Naeemat, Chairman of Al Hosn Group; Dr Mustafa Taherali Saasa, Chairman of Raj Group of Companies; and Wilfried Sauer, Founder of Sauer Power.
These exchanges created opportunities to explore how Thailand’s healthcare expertise and tourism infrastructure could complement Dubai’s long-term longevity development goals.
Beyond medical services and investment opportunities, Thailand presented Khao Yai as a destination for nature-based wellness tourism.
The presentation introduced the UNESCO World Heritage listed national park through the concept of a “green prescription”, connecting natural environments and community based activities with measurable health outcomes.
The approach highlights Thailand’s potential to integrate nature, tourism and preventive wellbeing into meaningful visitor experiences.
It also demonstrates how destinations outside Thailand’s major cities can contribute to the country's broader wellness tourism development.
Consul Khanin Boonyasopat noted that the Royal Thai Consulate-General has spent four years facilitating visits by Thai public-sector delegations and encouraging Thai companies to participate in healthcare exhibitions in Dubai.
These continuing activities have helped establish connections between Thailand’s healthcare and wellness sectors and potential partners in the United Arab Emirates.
Consul-General Sevikul described the Dubai Longevity Authority’s mission as an initiative focused on the long-term wellbeing of Dubai’s population, extending beyond economic development.
Emphasising the importance of sustained international cooperation, he stated:
“If you want to go fast, you go alone, but if you want to go far, you go with a friend.”
He added that Thailand was ready to serve as a reliable partner supporting Dubai’s longevity ambitions.
The engagement with Dubai represents another opportunity for Thailand to expand international partnerships across healthcare, wellness tourism and longevity innovation.
With established medical service providers, tourism infrastructure, natural wellness destinations and an expanding network of public-private stakeholders, Thailand is positioning itself to participate in international cooperation focused on healthier and longer lives.
The discussions also highlight the potential for collaboration between Thailand and the UAE in health tourism, medical innovation, investment and knowledge exchange.
As global interest in longevity continues to develop, sustained partnerships may help create new opportunities for healthcare organisations, wellness providers, researchers and international travellers.
