A delegation of Thai public and private sector representatives visited Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from 28 - 30 September 2026 to explore cooperation in the health and longevity economy and support opportunities for Thai businesses across related sectors.
Mr. Chakri Noranit Sewakul, Thailand’s Consul-General in Dubai, welcomed the delegation and facilitated discussions. Dr. Anusak Kongmalai, President of the Thai Medical and Wellness Tourism Association (TMWTA), also joined the mission to present developments in Thailand’s medical and wellness tourism industry.

On 29 September 2026, the Consul General led the Thai delegation in a meeting with Mrs. Deepa Raja Carbon, Executive Committee Member, and Mr. Basit Altaf, Vice President and Programme Lead, of the Dubai Longevity Authority (DLA), according to information provided about the visit.
The discussions focused on potential cooperation with DLA and opportunities to connect Thai businesses with Dubai’s health and longevity value chain. Areas of interest included healthcare services, wellness and approaches that support longer, healthier lives.

During the meeting, Dr. Anusak outlined the development of Thailand’s medical and wellness tourism sector. He also expressed readiness to collaborate with DLA and relevant businesses to support the sustainable development of the health economy.
The visit provided an opportunity to establish connections between Thai public agencies, private businesses and counterparts in Dubai, laying the groundwork for further discussions on health and longevity cooperation.

The Dubai Longevity Authority is a public authority established under Dubai Law No. 17 of 2026, issued on 6 June 2026. Its objectives include positioning Dubai as a leading global hub for longevity and advanced therapeutic products, while supporting research, innovation and strategic partnerships.
DLA’s responsibilities include regulating and permitting longevity-related activities in coordination with other relevant authorities. The law defines longevity around improving healthspan the years a person lives in good health and health-related quality of life through preventive care, therapeutic interventions and health innovation.
