Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health participated in the 15th APEC High-Level Meeting on Health and the Economy and the 4th World Bio Summit, held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 15–17 September 2025. The sessions focused on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into public health systems and bio-ecosystems, as well as strategies to strengthen health security alongside sustainable economic growth.

The Thai delegation shared national policies and best practices, calling for closer cooperation among APEC member economies to advance resilient health systems, promote active and healthy aging, enhance youth mental health, and apply AI to improve healthcare delivery. Discussions also addressed Thailand’s efforts to control dengue fever.

During the event, APEC economies launched the 2026–2030 Dengue Prevention and Control Initiative, aiming to bolster collaborative infrastructure and innovative health technologies for more responsive care systems.

A key highlight was the unveiling of the 2026–2030 Cervical Cancer Elimination Acceleration Plan, setting the “90-70-90” targets: 90% HPV vaccination coverage among girls, 70% screening coverage for women, and 90% access to appropriate treatment.

Participants adopted a joint statement underscoring APEC’s commitment to building flexible, sustainable health systems to improve population well-being and support economic growth across the Asia-Pacific.

The World Bio Summit also provided a platform for sharing insights on AI governance for the public good, cross-border bio-innovation clusters, and technologies supporting dignified, healthy aging.
