
Bangkok, Thailand – Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health has officially announced its readiness to host the Global Wellness Summit 2026 (GWS 2026), positioning the country as a key driver of the global wellness economy. The summit is scheduled to take place from November 10 - 13, 2026, at Angsana Laguna Phuket, bringing together global business leaders, investors, and wellness experts from over 50 countries.

The summit is scheduled to take place from November 10 - 13, 2026, at Angsana Laguna Phuket, bringing together global business leaders, investors, and wellness experts from over 50 countries.
The event will be held under the theme “The Symphony of Wellness,” reflecting Thailand’s unique ability to harmonize traditional healing practices with modern global innovations. The initiative aims to highlight Thailand’s strengths in Thai massage, herbal medicine, and medical wellness, while reinforcing its ambition to become a leading global wellness destination.
Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, stated that hosting GWS 2026 represents a significant opportunity to elevate Thailand’s “Wellness Soft Power” on the international stage. The summit is expected to attract more than 600 high-level participants, including CEOs, healthcare professionals, and investors, contributing to the expansion of the global wellness industry, currently valued at approximately USD 6.8 trillion.
Thailand will also serve as a Co-Chair of the summit, collaborating with global leaders from diverse fields, including public health, lifestyle medicine, international marketing, and wellness innovation. This leadership role reflects Thailand’s growing influence in shaping the future of global wellness and health tourism.
A series of curated experiences and high-level programs will be organized to showcase Thailand’s wellness ecosystem. These include wellness exhibitions featuring Thai herbal innovations and traditional therapies, curated wellness tourism routes such as forest bathing and mindfulness journeys, and exclusive wellness cuisine experiences that highlight the health benefits of Thai ingredients and holistic nutrition. Additional highlights include premium networking sessions designed to foster collaboration among global stakeholders and drive future industry development.
Dr. Pongsathorn Pokpermdee, Director-General of the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, emphasized that Phuket was selected as the host destination due to its strong reputation as a world-class wellness hub. The island offers a combination of high-end spa services, preventive medicine clinics, and luxury hospitality, making it an ideal setting for a global summit of this scale.
The 2026 edition of the Global Wellness Summit is particularly significant as it marks the 20th anniversary of the event. Participation will be by invitation only, further reinforcing its status as one of the most prestigious gatherings in the global wellness industry.
