The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) participated in World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026 at ExCeL London, leading a delegation of 47 Thai tourism businesses to promote Thailand's health and wellness tourism offerings to international travel partners.
The initiative aims to strengthen Thailand's presence in the UK market, retain existing visitors, and attract high-value travelers seeking meaningful experiences that combine relaxation, well-being, cultural discovery, and sustainable tourism.
Under the theme “Healing is the New Luxury,” Thailand is presenting a new interpretation of luxury travel that emphasizes physical and emotional well-being, mindfulness, and memorable experiences rather than material extravagance.
TAT also aims to maintain the momentum of UK arrivals and surpass one million visitors from the United Kingdom for the second consecutive year in 2026.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, stated that TAT continues to build confidence and encourage travel among long-haul international markets, particularly the United Kingdom.
The UK ranks among Thailand's top three long-haul source markets by visitor arrivals and remains an important contributor to the country's tourism economy.
According to TAT, forward travel bookings for October 2026 through March 2027 increased by 15.3%, reflecting continued demand for travel to Thailand.
To respond to evolving traveler preferences, TAT is focusing on several high-potential tourism segments, including:
Responsible Tourism
Luxury Travel and Luxperience
Health and Well-being Tourism
Sports Tourism
Digital Nomads
Celebration Travel
The “Healing is the New Luxury” campaign places health, wellness, and quality travel experiences at the center of Thailand's tourism promotion strategy.
WTM London 2026 also provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with international travel businesses and airline partners, particularly those supporting direct air connections between the United Kingdom and Thailand.
TAT expects participation in the event to generate at least 1,440 business appointments and more than THB 1.51 billion in tourism revenue.
The Thailand Pavilion at WTM London 2026 was designed around the concept of “Healing is the New Luxury,” offering visitors an immersive introduction to Thailand's approach to meaningful travel.
The pavilion incorporates experiences that engage the five senses:
Sight: Visual presentations showcasing Thailand's destinations, landscapes, and cultural identity
Sound: Relaxing sound experiences associated with mindfulness and well-being
Smell: Nature-inspired aromas that evoke the atmosphere of Thailand's forests
Taste: Traditional Thai cuisine reflecting local ingredients and culinary heritage
Touch: Hands-on cultural and craft experiences highlighting Thai creativity
The pavilion combines contemporary design with traditional Thai cultural elements.
An animated Map of Thailand also showcases destinations across the country, helping international visitors and travel businesses discover the diversity of Thailand's tourism offerings.
On November 3, 2026, Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi visited the Thailand Pavilion and participated in media activities.
During the visit, she demonstrated the preparation of two Thai dishes that highlighted the country's culinary craftsmanship and use of local ingredients.
The first was “Manee Roi Rot,” a savory noodle dish featuring seven naturally colored varieties of rice noodles.
The colors were derived from Thai botanical ingredients and herbs, including butterfly pea flowers, roselle, and turmeric sourced from Suphan Buri Province.
The dish also incorporated a seasoning sauce made with tamarind from Phetchabun Province.
The second dish was “Khanom Phra Phai,” a traditional Thai dessert featuring soft, naturally colored dough filled with finely prepared sweetened mung beans and served with coconut milk.
The culinary demonstration highlighted how Thai cuisine can express craftsmanship, local wisdom, cultural meaning, and sensory enjoyment.
It also reinforced the campaign's interpretation of luxury as an experience rooted in authenticity, attention to detail, and emotional connection.

A key feature of Thailand's presentation at WTM London 2026 was the “Worth-Life Balance” Product Showcase, developed under the “Healing is the New Luxury” concept.
The showcase introduced three dimensions of mindfulness-inspired travel experiences.
The Reconnect experience used forest-inspired scents to evoke Thailand's natural environments.
It highlighted travel experiences that encourage visitors to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy peaceful surroundings.
The Presence experience showcased traditional Thai indigo-dyed textiles, emphasizing craftsmanship, cultural heritage, and mindful engagement.
Visitors were introduced to the detailed processes and creativity involved in Thai textile traditions.
Interactive DIY activities included making indigo fabric brooches and tie-dyed fabric notebook covers.
These activities encouraged participants to focus on the present moment while exploring Thai cultural craftsmanship.
The Relax experience featured singing bowls as an introduction to sound healing experiences available in Thailand.
The presentation highlighted the calming atmosphere associated with sound-based relaxation practices and their role in wellness-oriented travel.
Together, these three dimensions demonstrated how Thailand is positioning wellness tourism around meaningful experiences that combine nature, culture, mindfulness, and relaxation.
TAT brought 47 Thai tourism businesses to WTM London 2026 to strengthen business relationships and promote tourism products to international buyers.
The delegation included:

Among the participating businesses, 18 were first-time exhibitors and 29 had previously attended the event.
The delegation also included businesses participating in Thailand's tourism quality and sustainability initiatives:
Thailand Tourism Awards: 2 businesses
STAR Project: 34 businesses
CF Hotels: 5 businesses
The participating operators represented destinations including Bangkok, Chon Buri, Krabi, Phang Nga, Phetchaburi, Phuket, Rayong, and Surat Thani.
Their participation provided international buyers with opportunities to explore tourism offerings across multiple Thai destinations.
The United Kingdom is one of Thailand's most important long-haul tourism markets and ranks among the country's top ten international source markets overall.
In 2025, Thailand welcomed 1,083,162 visitors from the United Kingdom, exceeding the one-million-arrival milestone.
Despite challenges affecting international travel in 2026, the UK market continued to demonstrate strong potential.
According to TAT, Thailand recorded 808,214 UK visitor arrivals between January 1 and October 31, 2026.
TAT projects that UK arrivals will reach 1,041,987 visitors by the end of 2026, generating more than THB 71.605 billion in tourism revenue.

These figures underline the importance of retaining UK travelers while attracting new visitors interested in Thailand's premium tourism, wellness, and cultural experiences.
TAT continues to work with airline partners to improve access to Thailand from the United Kingdom and other European markets.
The strategy includes cooperation with airlines such as Virgin Atlantic and Norse Atlantic Airways, supporting expanded travel connections and greater convenience for international visitors.
Improved connectivity is expected to help attract both first-time visitors and repeat travelers.
In addition, TAT plans to organize a familiarization trip for UK travel businesses to explore tourism products and experiences in Khao Lak, Phang Nga Province, in June 2027.
The initiative aims to connect Thai tourism operators with UK travel companies and create further business opportunities.

Thailand's participation in WTM London 2026 demonstrates the country's efforts to position wellness and high-value travel experiences as important drivers of tourism growth.
Through the “Healing is the New Luxury” concept, TAT is presenting a tourism model that combines health and well-being, cultural heritage, nature, hospitality, and sustainability.
The strategy also highlights opportunities for Thai tourism businesses to develop differentiated experiences that respond to changing international travel preferences.
By strengthening airline partnerships, expanding business networks, and promoting meaningful travel experiences, Thailand aims to maintain its competitiveness in the UK and European markets.
With 47 participating tourism businesses, more than 1,440 anticipated business appointments, and projected tourism revenue exceeding THB 1.51 billion, WTM London 2026 represents an important platform for Thailand to advance its wellness tourism positioning and international tourism partnerships.
