Thailand’s two winning destinations were nominated by the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA). In the previous year, five Thai destinations made it to the Green Destinations Top 100 Stories list:

These awards serve as an important tool in showcasing the value and commitment to developing tourism areas and services that meet international standards while emphasizing cultural, social, and environmental sustainability. They also enhance Thailand’s reputation as a high-quality and sustainable tourism destination.
Additionally, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Frankfurt Office accepted the Best LGBTQ Destination award at the Spartacus Travel Award 2025 ceremony, held on March 5, 2025, at Hotel Orania Berlin, Germany. The awards are organized by Spartacus, a renowned German lifestyle and travel magazine for the LGBTQ+ community. Winners were selected through reader votes and expert evaluations.
The event brought together over 100 participants, including travel industry professionals, media representatives, national tourism organizations (NTOs), and airline representatives. Awards were presented in four categories:
- Best LGBTQ Friendly Airline
- Best LGBTQ Event Destination
- Best LGBTQ Honeymoon Destination
- Best LGBTQ Destination
Winning the Best LGBTQ Destination award reinforces Thailand’s reputation as a top choice for German LGBTQ+ travelers. This recognition has been further strengthened by Thailand’s Equal Marriage Act, which was officially passed in January 2025.
