Complete service information and details
Before the embryo transfer, the doctor will prepare the woman’s body by administering medication to ready the endometrial lining. This includes providing progesterone to ensure the uterine lining is optimal for embryo implantation.
1. Fresh Embryo Transfer (ET)
This involves transferring the embryo back into the uterine cavity during the same cycle in which the eggs were stimulated and retrieved.
2. Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)
This involves transferring the embryo into the uterine cavity during a later cycle to avoid complications such as Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), endometrial hyperplasia, or edema. The embryos are frozen and stored until the body is ready for transfer. Frozen embryos can be preserved for over 20 years.
After the embryo transfer, the doctor will schedule an appointment to confirm pregnancy through a blood test to measure hormone levels and assess symptoms following the transfer. Once pregnancy is successfully achieved, the couple can proceed with prenatal care under an obstetrician.
