- Get enough sleep, at least 6-8 hours, before the check-up. Lack of sleep can affect the results, especially blood pressure, heart rate, and body temperature, making it difficult for doctors to assess if there are real abnormalities.
- Refrain from eating and drinking for at least 8-10 hours before the check-up (small sips of water are allowed).
- Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before the check-up, as alcohol and certain medications can affect test results.
- It is best to arrive at the hospital in the morning to avoid exhaustion, as you will have been fasting for several hours.
- If you are taking blood pressure medication, continue to do so as per your doctor’s advice, but inform the doctor or nurse before the check-up.
- If you have any chronic illnesses or other health conditions, please bring your medical reports or past test results to assist in the diagnosis.
- Wear clothing that makes it easy to access your arms for blood sampling.
- Women should avoid getting tested during the 7 days before and after menstruation.
- If you are menstruating, avoid the urine test, as blood contamination can affect the results.
- If undergoing breast cancer screening with a mammogram, avoid scheduling it during your menstrual period, as the breasts tend to be tender and swollen. It’s best to schedule the test after your period.
- If you suspect you may be pregnant, inform the staff so they can skip the X-ray examination.
