Brain Rehabilitation Medicine

Brain Rehabilitation Medicine

Complete service information and details

Description

Neurorehabilitation refers to the multimodal rehabilitation of the central nervous system, particularly the brain. Even after addressing the underlying disease, the majority of brain patients will continue to suffer from residual impairments. For instance, patients with brain tumors frequently continue to experience impairments in movement, speech, swallowing, and cognition even after the tumor has been removed.

Brain patients frequently have a variety of difficulties, the most typical of which include: walking and balance, gripping things, alertness, heightened awareness, ideas and planning, etc. It also involves swallowing, speaking, interpreting, and planning, as well as the regulation of complicated movements and memorization. These disorders can be rehabilitated, but for treatment to be effective, the appropriate treatment strategy must be used for the patient's condition. Individuals with brain disease, including those with ischemic stroke, brain tumors, and encephalitis, are referred to as neuropsychiatric patients with traumatic brain injuries. They should get intense therapy as soon as possible. For instance, a stroke patient should be able to begin beginning rehabilitation within two days of hospitalization in order to get the best therapeutic benefit and minimize brain adaptation in an undesired manner.

CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) refers to a blockage or rupture of a cerebral artery that deprives brain cells of blood flow or causes them to be crushed by a clot, resulting in the cells' inability to function normally and eventual death. When any portion of the brain responsible for managing a body function is injured, the numerous body functions will be aberrant depending on the location of the brain lesion. Hence, symptoms may include limb weakness, blindness, slurred speech, a crooked face, difficulty swallowing, choking, or one or the other.

Samrong General Center employs an array of contemporary treatment methods. For instance, most patients will be trained by robots to walk independently up and down stairs while wearing a supportive shirt and walking on a treadmill. Practicing walking on a treadmill is especially beneficial for the elderly, as it improves their balance.

Locomotor therapy and gait robotic training refer to the process of regaining gait by having the patient wear an anti-fall device and walk on a treadmill and/or a robotic gait. The training has the benefit of ensuring the patient's safety from falls during training, as well as making the training more successful than keeping the practice of walking on level ground. In addition, the patient will not learn the incorrect gait because he or she is able to walk with a near approximation of the appropriate gait from the start of training. On the floor, the patient will be able to walk approximately 100-200 steps every day, while on the machine, the patient may be able to practice walking up to 800-1000 steps per day.

According to studies conducted in Germany, a sample of 150 paralyzed individuals who had been unable to walk for one month were able to walk independently after undergoing robotic training and conventional physical therapy.

Many types of robots are now being developed to aid with arm and hand training for patients. Respected academic groups such as the Cochrane collaboration have decided in a global evaluation of evidence that robots have a good influence on regaining arm movement. Specifically, the robot enables the patient to conduct simultaneous movements on both forearms or wrists, resulting in a more effective treatment. Samrong General Hospital has decided to acquire the Bimanutrack Arm Movement Trainer from Germany in order to provide our patients with the finest possible rehabilitation training opportunity.
