Urological Surgery

The Department of Urological Surgery and the Synphaet Fertility Center at Synphaet Ramintra Hospital are equipped to address a wide range of fertility issues.

This department handles cases of both male and female infertility, and their comprehensive services extend to diagnosing and treating underlying causes. For males, sperm production, quality, and quantity can be evaluated. For females, any abnormalities in ovulation, hormonal levels, uterine and fallopian tubes, and cervical and vaginal issues are investigated.

Several assisted reproductive technologies are available for patients, including:

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI): A process where healthy and highly motile sperm is directly injected into the uterine cavity to increase chances of fertilization.
In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF): A procedure where eggs and sperm are combined outside the body, and the resulting embryo is then implanted into the uterus.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI): A specialized form of IVF where a single sperm is directly injected into an egg to facilitate fertilization, which is particularly useful when male factor infertility is present.
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD): A technique used alongside IVF to screen embryos for any genetic diseases before implantation.
Blastocyst Culture: Embryos are cultured in the lab for about five days until they reach the blastocyst stage, at which point they are transferred to the uterus. This stage of development often indicates a higher quality embryo, leading to a higher chance of successful implantation.
Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE): A procedure used to extract sperm directly from the testicular tissue. This is beneficial in cases where the male partner has no sperm in the ejaculate due to blockage or other issues.
Laser-Assisted Hatching: A technique used in conjunction with IVF where a small hole is made in the outer covering of the embryo (the zona pellucida) to assist the embryo in hatching and implanting into the womb.
