Ubonrak Thonburi Hospital's Heart Centre is committed to providing the highest standards of heart disease treatment.

Our cardiologists specializing in diagnosis with coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty (using a balloon to stretch open a narrowed or blocked artery and inserting a stent or more into the artery) and arrhythmia treatment through temporary and permanent pacemaker implantation. There are also care teams who have been specially trained in providing heart-disease treatment.

Our Heart Centre has standardized medical technologies for quick and accurate diagnosis using modern medical equipment and experience professionals have ability to provide effective treatment for various types of heart disease, such as valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, acute myocardial infraction, heart failure and arrhythmia.

Examination Rooms and Services

Our Heart Centre has cardiac examination and treatment rooms with a full range of services. These are divided as follows :

1. Outpatient Department (OPD)

Our OPD provides diagnosis and treatment services for heart disease by accurate and cutting-edge medical equipment.

Open for service, Monday - Friday 8.00 - 19.00 and on Saturday - Sunday 8.00-15.00 (according to the doctor's schedule).

Echocardiogram (Echo)

We choose modern and high standard Echo or cardiac ultrasound machines. Thus, the diagnosis can be done with higher levels of precision and accuracy. In addition, the abnormal conditions of the heart can be assessed from the initial stage by Global Longitudinal Strain and Transthoracic Echocardiogram to assess the functioning, size and valves of the heart, the aorta, pericardium and all abnormal conditions of the heart.

Exercise Stress Test (Treadmill Test)

Treadmill walking examination to assess physical fitness, myocardial ischemia, high blood-pressure condition or arrhythmia during exercise with the treadmill examination device. The Heart Centre offers a set of clothes and shoes to use during the examination.

Holter Monitor (1-5 Days Monitor)

Electrocardiogram Monitoring which records the electrical activity of the heart continuously over 24 hours outside the hospital to assist in the diagnosis of palpitation, fainting and loss of consciousness that are suspected as symptoms of arrhythmia.

ABI (Ankle-Brachial Index)

Ankle-Brachial Index number can indicate narrowing or blockage of the arteries in the limbs is a significant symptom of Atherosclerosis. It is a common condition that develops when atherosclerotic plaque builds up inside the arteries.

***In addition, there are other tests for heart disease, such as Coronary Artery Calcium scan (CAC) by CT Coronary examination, which is performed in the X-Ray Department on the Ground floor. Every test is supervised by a cardiologist in every step for the highest level of patient safety.

2. Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab)

We offer cardiac catheterization service for both scheduled appointments and emergency appointment 24/7.

Our cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) offers invasive diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease by Coronary angioplasty using a balloon to stretch open a narrowed or blocked artery and inserting a stent or more into the artery.

Coronary angioplasty is know as percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). The combination of coronary angioplasty with stenting is usually referred to as Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)

Our cardiologist are experts in interventional cardiology which is a specialty that diagnoses and treats heart and blood vessel condition using small tubes called catheters. Working with these small tubes, which they put through your blood vessels, allow providers to avoid doing open-heart surgery. They have experience and expertise in treating patient with complex condition when the blood supply to heart is restricted or completely blocked.

We focus on successful artery opening and maximum safety for our patients during and after procedure.

In addition, there are diagnostic and treatment services including those for arrhythmia, such as pacemaker implantation by a team of cardiologist specializing in electrophysiology in cases of slow heart rate, tachy-brady arrhythmia syndrome (Sick Sinus Syndrome) and we can perform Electrophysiology Study (EPS) and Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation (RFCA) in the patient who has tachy arrhythmia (Fast and irregular heart rate).
