Gingivectomy at XDC Dental Clinic: Restore Your Teeth and Gums with Advanced Technology

Gingivectomy is a surgical procedure that involves removing excess gum tissue.¹ It can be done for a variety of reasons, including:

To improve the appearance of your smile: If you have a "gummy smile," where too much gum tissue shows when you smile, a gingivectomy can remove the excess tissue and make your teeth appear longer and more proportionate.²
To treat gum disease:³ Gum disease can cause the gums to pull away from the teeth, creating pockets where bacteria can accumulate.⁴ A gingivectomy can remove the damaged tissue and help to prevent further gum disease.⁵
To make it easier to clean your teeth: If you have excess gum tissue, it can be difficult to clean your teeth properly.⁶ A gingivectomy can make it easier to brush and floss, which can help to prevent cavities and gum disease.⁷
To prepare for other dental procedures: A gingivectomy may be necessary before other dental procedures, such as getting a crown or bridge.⁸

Gingivectomy is a safe and effective procedure that can improve your oral health and the appearance of your smile.⁹ If you are considering a gingivectomy, it is important to talk to your dentist to see if it is right for you.
