April 25, 2025 — The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organized the Amazing Thailand Health & Wellness Trade Meet 2025, a business-matching platform connecting Thai and international operators in Thailand’s health and wellness tourism sector. The event featured product showcases and experiential activities aimed at introducing international buyers to Thai health and wellness tourism services, with the goal of attracting high-quality travelers from around the world. The event was presided over by Mrs. Chiravadee Khunsub, Executive Director of the Europe Region, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa Markets at TAT, alongside senior TAT executives, at The Ritz Carlton Bangkok.

Mrs. Chiravadee emphasized that TAT is committed to promoting the high-spending Health & Wellness segment under the Amazing Thailand Health & Wellness Journey project. This year’s Trade Meet brought together 100 international buyers from around the world — 19 from Europe, 11 from the Americas, Middle East, and Africa, 40 from East Asia, and 30 from ASEAN, South Asia, and the South Pacific — to engage in business discussions with 50 Thai suppliers. Thai participants showcased a wide range of wellness-related services, including therapeutic spas, medical wellness services in hospitals, and premier health resorts such as Chiva-Som, Kamalaya, and Sri Panwa. Internationally recognized health centers such as BDMS Wellness Clinic, RAKxa Integrative Wellness, and Bangkok Hospital Pattaya were also featured.

The event also included familiarization trips (fam trips) for international operators to experience wellness tourism products and services in Thailand. These trips were tailored to visitor interests and behavior by region and were designed to boost market engagement and reinforce Thailand's image as a Quality Destination.

Key program elements of the Trade Meet included:

       - Thailand Health and Wellness Product Update, presented by Ms. Eblarp Sripirom, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT);

       - Panel discussion on the topic Wellness Hub Thailand, led by Tanupol Virunhagarun, M.D., Chief Executive Officer of BDMS Wellness Clinic and BDMS Wellness Resort, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited;

       - Wellness Showcase and DIY workshops, such as custom Thai herbal inhaler making, healthy cuisine demos, and traditional Thai elemental diagnostics with self-care guidance.

International buyers also participated in Amazing Thailand Health & Wellness Fam Trips before and after the Trade Meet. These site visits took place from April 21–24 (Pre-Trip) and April 26–29 (Post-Trip) and covered key wellness tourism destinations including: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin (Prachuap Khiri Khan), Nakhon Pathom, Kanchanaburi, Pattaya (Chonburi), Prachinburi, Koh Samui (Surat Thani), Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, and Khao Yai (Nakhon Ratchasima).

Health and wellness travelers are regarded as high-potential visitors, spending on average THB 100,259 (approx. USD 2,700) per person per trip. Popular offerings include traditional Thai massage, spas, yoga, healthy cuisine, anti-aging programs, holistic retreats, and medical services such as cosmetic surgery and fertility treatments. The top destinations for health and wellness tourism in Thailand include Bangkok, Chonburi, Phuket, Surat Thani, and Krabi.
