Overbrook Hospital

Overbrook Hospital, founded in 1903, has a long and storied history as a healthcare institution in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. It was established under the auspices of the Foundation of the Church of Christ in Thailand, with a strong commitment to proclaiming the gospel of God through the provision of quality medical care to all, regardless of nationality, religion, or socioeconomic status. 

The hospital's name, "Overbrook," was chosen as a tribute to the Grace family, comprising the wife and children of Mr. John Bernard Grace, who were active members of the Overbrook Church in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. The Grace family played a crucial role in the hospital's inception by generously contributing $5,000 from the members of the Overbrook Church. This initial funding was brought back to Thailand by Dr. William A. Briggs, the director at the time, and used to construct the hospital's first building, which is now known as the administration building. The construction was completed in 1908, and the hospital initially had 44 patient beds. 

From its humble beginnings, Overbrook Hospital steadily expanded its services and facilities, guided by a vision to become a trusted tertiary care hospital in the region. The hospital's mission has consistently centered around providing comprehensive and accessible healthcare to the general public, focusing on medical treatment and health rehabilitation.   

Over the years, the hospital has continuously evolved and adapted to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community. Today, it stands as a reputable private hospital with a remarkable capacity of 246 beds, housing a diverse team of specialized doctors and medical personnel, equipped to handle various diseases and medical conditions.   

In recognition of its dedication to excellence and commitment to patient safety and care, Overbrook Hospital achieved certification from the esteemed Joint Commissions International (JCI), the world-class quality assurance institute. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone for the hospital, as it becomes the first healthcare institution in Chiang Rai to attain such global recognition.

- CT Angiogram Center: Imaging center specializing in CT angiography to visualize blood vessels and diagnose conditions such as arterial blockages and aneurysms.   

- Endoscopy Center: Specialized facility for endoscopic procedures to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal conditions, including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy.   

- Urological & Kidney Center: Diagnosis and treatment of urological disorders and kidney diseases, including kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and prostate conditions.   

- Rehabilitation Center: Comprehensive rehabilitation services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to restore function and improve quality of life.   

- ESWL Center: Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy center for non-invasive treatment of kidney stones, breaking them into smaller fragments for easier passage. 

- Skin Laser and Cosmetic Center: Aesthetic services including laser treatments, chemical peels, and cosmetic procedures to rejuvenate and enhance the skin's appearance.
