The report stated that the students from Yicheng Experimental School in Lincang City began receiving medical treatment on Tuesday (Dec. 31) after experiencing symptoms including abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.
Following the report of the infections, local health authorities initiated an emergency response to ensure effective treatment of the affected students. Tests confirmed the presence of norovirus in vomit, fecal, and environmental samples from the school. However, no traces of norovirus or bacteria were detected in food samples.
Currently, measures are being taken to disinfect the environment, monitor the health of the infected students, manage hygiene practices, and provide public health education within the school in an orderly manner.
All affected students have received timely and effective treatment, with all cases showing good recovery. No severe cases have been reported.
