Chiang Mai Medical Center Hospital has a rich and storied history that spans over five decades. It was originally established in 1969 under the name "Ruam Phaet Chiang Mai Hospital." From its inception, the hospital aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the people living in the northern region of Thailand.   

In October 2014, recognizing the need to expand its services and cater to a more diverse patient base, the hospital underwent a significant transformation and changed its name to "Chiang Mai Medical Center Hospital." This name change signified its commitment to becoming a comprehensive medical center capable of serving not only local residents but also Thai tourists and international visitors in need of healthcare services.
