FUE can treat baldness! Is it true?

FUE can treat baldness! Is it true?

Baldness is a concern for many men, regardless of their age, as the loss of hair to the point of complete baldness negatively impacts their confidence and overall image. Baldness not only affects the external appearance but also has an impact on internal emotions. If one is looking for a solution to this issue, "hair transplantation" might be the most suitable option.

But can hair transplant help this baldness condition go away? Is it true?

Currently, the success rate of hair transplantation is quite high, reaching up to 90%, especially with the technique that many people are familiar with, FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), which is very popular.

Since FUE involves extracting hair follicles for transplantation and leaves many small wounds scattered around the transplant area, the results after the procedure appear seamless, and the wounds heal faster than with other methods. This technique is suitable for both men and women who have patchy hair loss distributed in various areas on the scalp.

Can FUE be used to treat baldness?

Even tho FUE seems suitable for many people, if the hair loss condition, especially for men, has progressed to stage 7 on the "Norwood Scale," it means that the hair loss many men are experiencing is now at the highest level of hair loss. In stage 7, there are only two areas left with hair: the back and the sides of the head. If hair transplantation is necessary, it may require up to 6,000 grafts.

Therefore, choosing FUE, which is characterized by treating hair loss that is distributed in multiple areas on the scalp, may not be suitable for severe baldness. This is because FUE has another drawback: if the area where hair needs to be transplanted is large, it requires a significant number of hair follicles. This may result in thinning of the hair in the area that was harvested during the next hair transplant surgery, making it more difficult and requiring more time for the procedure.

But it's not that there are no methods to help treat severe baldness at all. Beside FUE, another technique that many might have forgotten, "FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation)," is another method that can help treat this severe baldness. Especially for hair transplant surgeries that require using 5,000 to 6,000 hair grafts or more. No other hair transplant technique can provide such a large number of grafts as FUT. It is a very suitable technique in cases where FUE cannot be used for extensive hair loss problems. Therefore, FUT is another excellent option to consider in this situation.

"Can gray hair be used for hair transplantation?"

As we age, hair problems tend to follow, whether it's hair loss, thinning hair, baldness, and more. But there's one more thing that comes with aging: "gray hair." Many times, patients have questions and often ask at the clinic, "Can gray hair be used for hair transplants?" Because many patients are concerned that hair transplantation requires only black hair.
