Strengthening Lung Function through Pulmonary Rehabilitation

1. Breathing Exercises
Breathing exercises are essential during the first 2 weeks of recovery.
Inhale deeply through your nose, then slowly exhale through your mouth. You may also gently say “ooo” while exhaling until your lungs are empty. Then inhale fully again and repeat.

Scar tissue can make lung tissue stiff, but regular breathing exercises help improve flexibility (elasticity) and gradually restore normal lung function.

2. Lung Expansion Exercises
Also recommended during the first 2 weeks of recovery, this method uses a medical device called a Triflow (Incentive Spirometer).

The device contains three balls in separate chambers. As you inhale, the balls rise depending on the strength of your breath-the deeper the inhale, the more balls rise.

This technique helps fully expand the lungs, improve elasticity, and support gradual recovery.

3. Light General Exercise
This can begin around weeks 3-4 of recovery. At this stage, you may still feel fatigued, but lung function is starting to improve.

Start with light activities such as walking frequently and avoiding prolonged inactivity. After 3-5 days, gradually increase intensity-walking faster or progressing to light jogging as your body adapts.

How Long Does Dental Implant Treatment Take?

The duration of dental implant treatment depends on several factors, such as the implant location, the condition of the jawbone, and the implantation technique used.In cases where a patient has recently lost a tooth and has sufficient bone density, the treatment typically takes around 3 months. In some situations-such as front teeth requiring high aesthetics or multiple implants-temporary teeth can be placed immediately after implant insertion.
