HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound)
HIFU stands for High Intensity Focus Ultrasound. It is a device that employs high-frequency sound waves by concentrating on a location deep within the tissue structure. The waves emitted are very concentrated, being radiated 1000 times per second, causing heat to be discharged into the skin layers, which can penetrate as deeply as the SMASH layer. Its function causes the contraction of the injured epidermal layer and the synthesis of new body tissues. It boosts collagen and elastin production with minimal pain and no harm.
HIFU can also be an alternative to botulinum toxin injections for reducing superficial wrinkles, particularly those around the eyes, lifting the forehead, lifting the eyebrows, and treating skin issues. Moreover, it helps eliminate wrinkles. Hence, HIFU has the benefit of allowing normal facial expressions and without making the face appear rigid. The machine's three laser heads allow for extensive access to all skin layers for the most effective outcomes.
HIFU utilizes ultrasonic energy to safely lift and tighten skin. It protects the skin's surface while accurately penetrating at deeper depths and higher temperatures than Radio Frequency, treating beyond the Dermis and Foundation layers where structural deterioration begins. At the intended location, 40°C is applied to the tissue. Thermal Heat is produced by the skin tissue causing both spaced 'wounds' and cellular friction, which accelerates healing, quickly contracts collagen, and encourages the rapid creation of collagen. In the subsequent 90-180 days, the wound-healing reaction encourages long-term tissue, resulting in additional lifting and tightening that can persist for years. It also improves the tone and features of the face, including the eyes, cheeks, mouth, chin, and skin, making it a viable option to Botulinum toxin injections with the added benefit of preserving facial expressiveness. Using three depth cartridges (1.5mm, 3mm, and 4.5mm), Hifu is able to reach depths that were previously only accessible through surgery.
