On August 21, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Deputy Minister chaired a meeting to outline strategies for developing the tourism sector, with a strong emphasis on promoting Health & Wellness Tourism.

The meeting focused on enhancing health-related tourism activities to attract high-potential markets, particularly from Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa. Throughout 2025, key initiatives will be launched, including the Middle East Trade Meet & Mega Fam Trip in Koh Samui and Bangkok, aimed at providing opportunities for Middle Eastern and South African businesses to engage in health-related trade discussions. In addition, Thailand will participate in the Oman Health Exhibition and Conference, promoting the country’s health services through B2B and B2C activities, targeting travelers from regions with strong purchasing power and high potential.

For nearby markets, plans are in place to organize seminars in collaboration with leading private hospitals to introduce health tourism packages, alongside participation in trade shows across several countries to encourage travelers to choose Thailand as their preferred destination.

In the fourth quarter, the Ministry will also host a Gastronomy Tourism Festival, featuring renowned restaurants and local signature dishes from across all regions of Thailand. This event aims to attract international tourists while creating new business opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs.

The meeting further discussed tax incentive measures to stimulate the tourism sector, with plans to refine and integrate proposals from the previous year into the upcoming phase, ensuring more effective fiscal policies to support tourism growth.

This discussion highlights the commitment to strengthening health and wellness tourism as a key driver of Thailand’s tourism industry while implementing supportive measures to elevate the quality and sustainability of Thai tourism to meet international standards.
