Ultrasound

An ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique that uses sound waves to produce images of the internal organs and tissues. In the context of fertility and pregnancy, ultrasounds are commonly used to monitor the development of follicles during ovulation, confirm pregnancy, and track the growth and health of the fetus. During an ultrasound, a handheld device called a transducer is placed on the skin or inserted into the vagina (transvaginal ultrasound) to capture images. Ultrasound technology is safe, painless, and does not use radiation, making it a preferred method for observing the reproductive organs and early stages of pregnancy. It can also be used to diagnose issues such as ovarian cysts, fibroids, or other abnormalities that may affect fertility.
