Ministry of Public Health Partners with Bangkok Hatyai Hospital for First-Ever Health Data Integration via ‘MOPH Digital Health’

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS), selecting Bangkok Hatyai Hospital as the first private hospital to integrate its public health service data into the MOPH Digital Health Platform. This marks a milestone in Thailand’s first health data collaboration between the public and private sectors. The initiative aims to foster seamless data-sharing among healthcare service units, allowing the public to access more convenient and efficient health services while adhering to the highest standards of data security.

The MOU was signed on June 26, 2025, at Songkhla Hospital, with executives from the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University, Songkhla Hospital, and Bangkok Hatyai Hospital attending as witnesses.

This collaboration represents a major step in extending the Ministry's digital health strategy to non-governmental healthcare providers. The effort builds upon previous partnerships with public institutions and now expands to include the private sector.

All involved organizations share a common vision of enhancing the quality of healthcare services for the public. By connecting to the MOPH Digital Health Platform and enabling responsible data-sharing, this partnership ensures the secure management of personal health information under data governance principles and relevant legal frameworks. The goal is to establish a complete and continuous health data ecosystem that improves the efficiency of healthcare—regardless of where patients seek services.

Under the agreement, the Ministry of Public Health will coordinate with related agencies to support the development of secure, appropriate data integration systems and promote digital trust among the public.

Meanwhile, Bangkok Hatyai Hospital will support coordination in public health, medical services, and other relevant areas. The hospital will also implement data minimization practices, ensuring that only necessary health service data is processed to benefit users while safeguarding data in compliance with applicable laws. Appropriate measures will be implemented for data security, backups, and service continuity.
