
Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health joined the 5th China–ASEAN Forum on Health Cooperation: Towards a Health Silk Road, held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, on 15–16 September 2025. The forum focused on advancing collaboration in health, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical research, development of digital medical technologies, and the integration of traditional medicine.
Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health joined the 5th China–ASEAN Forum on Health Cooperation: Towards a Health Silk Road, held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, on 15–16 September 2025. The forum focused on advancing collaboration in health, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical research, development of digital medical technologies, and the integration of traditional medicine.
The Thai delegation expressed support for ongoing initiatives under China–ASEAN health cooperation, highlighting innovation in drug research, digital medical devices, and stronger health systems across the region. Discussions with Guangxi officials explored opportunities to deepen cooperation in traditional Thai and Chinese medicine, as well as the cultivation and use of medicinal plants.

During the opening ceremony and plenary session, participants praised the achievements of China–ASEAN health collaboration, supported by the ASEAN–China Cooperation Fund, particularly in vaccine security and self-reliance (AVSSR), traditional and alternative medicine, and the development of a resilient health infrastructure.
The meeting also marked the launch of the China–ASEAN Healthcare Cooperation Center (Guangxi), the first joint health cooperation hub in the region. The center is designed to deliver comprehensive healthcare services spanning primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, while fostering further exchange of expertise in public health management.
