Complete service information and details
Pinguecula is a degenerative condition of the conjunctiva (the white part of the eye), appearing as a small yellowish raised lesion. It is commonly associated with long-term exposure to sunlight, ultraviolet (UV) radiation, wind, dust, and chronic dry eye.
Although typically not dangerous, pinguecula can cause irritation, redness, and discomfort that affect daily life.
At Eye Bangkok Hospital, we provide comprehensive diagnosis and personalized treatment by experienced ophthalmologists using hospital-grade diagnostic equipment to ensure accurate evaluation and appropriate care.
Pinguecula develops due to degeneration of the conjunctiva, leading to the accumulation of proteins and lipids that form a yellowish elevated spot on the white of the eye. Importantly, it does not extend onto the cornea.
While more common in individuals over 40, it is increasingly seen in younger patients due to environmental exposure and lifestyle factors.
